Each evening, after supper, the entire camp gathers by the lakeside to pray the rosary together.
The lake is very peaceful at this time in the evening as the sun is beginning to set. Campers and staff take turns leading decades and before each decade there is time to share intentions to pray for. These twenty minutes of prayer provide a moment of calm reflection before the evening activities.
Do campers need to be Catholic to attend Chilawee Trails?
No – and campers are free to not participate in the spiritual activities if they choose. Alternative supervision is provided. For staff and campers who are Catholic, however, these aspects of camp present a unique opportunity for growing in and deepening their faith life.
