Chilawee Trails is a camp with a Catholic spirit and both campers and staff have the opportunity to attend daily Mass. Confession is also available all week.
Mass takes place on site, first thing in the morning, as the sun is coming up. It is a truly peaceful experience, as the sunlight reflects off the lake and the birds wake up.
Chilawee Trails entrusts the spiritual formation provided at camp to Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church. For more information, please read the “Chilawee & Opus Dei” section of our About Us (link) page.
Do campers need to be Catholic to attend Chilawee Trails?
No – and campers are free to not participate in the spiritual activities if they choose. Alternative supervision is provided. For staff and campers who are Catholic, however, these aspects of camp present a unique opportunity for growing in and deepening their faith life.
