Throughout my years attending Chilawee Trails Camp for Girls there are many moments I look back to with great joy.
Whether I was staff or camper, staying for one week or two, the summers I spent at camp were so fruitful. I have many fond memories of the friendships made, growth in my spiritual life, and learning new skills. While looking back on these memories I remember as a camper being fully immersed in the well organized activities of the day; canoeing, crafts, sports, drama and spending time with my cabin mates.
And when the evenings came around we would enjoy an amazing campfire with all of the songs or (my favorite) the talent show where so many of us girls got to step out of our comfort zone and entertain others doing things we loved to share!
As I continued at camp as a leader my favourite memories were the day trips. As leaders in training we got to go to Algonquin park and enjoyed the breathtaking views after an amazing hike to the lookout peak.
I also loved that we have our own lake! We would go for lengthy canoe trips screaming out our favourite campfire songs from the night before and I fell in love with the open lake and the views from the canoe.
I love that I spent so many summers at a place that I can call my second home
