2018 was the year of animals, both real and artificial.
Sports team Judith and Sophie introduced campers to a temporary camp mascot in the form of a stuffed pink pig. His name was Spěch (pronounced Sh-pay) and he watched over all sports, games and hikes throughout the week. At the end, he was given to the camper who had shown the best sporting spirit.
In another part of the camp, kitchen and support staff fought a defensive battle against a chipmunk intent on breaking into the mess hall. He was filled with a noble spirit of adventure and wanted in.

On the waterfront, a few ducks were regular visitors during rosary and canoe.

The weather was beautiful, although for most of the camp it was too beautiful and dry for campfires. In the second week, a well-timed deluge of rain gave campers the chance to sing songs around a real fire.
Some highlights from the year include the return of archery and a spectacular group performance by the staff of “The Circle of Life”.
