Canoeing

Chilawee Trails sits on Halfway Lake and campers have the chance to participate in one of Canada’s most cherished outdoor activities: canoeing.

The canoeing program allows for all different skill levels. Younger campers are taught the basics of paddling and steering and participate in a variety of canoe games while out on the water. Older campers are taught how to safely tip and then rescue a canoe and its occupants. All campers get to take part in a longer canoe trip later in the week.

Campers are required to wear a personal flotation device at all times while canoeing and lifeguards are present at all times. All staff are trained on canoe safety procedures, including rescuing tipped canoes.
