His name was Sp\u011bch (pronounced Sh-pay) and he watched over all sports, games and hikes throughout the week. At the end, he was given to the camper who had shown the best sporting spirit.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more Continue Reading-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In another part of the camp, kitchen and support staff fought a defensive battle against a chipmunk intent on breaking into the mess hall. In the second week, a well-timed deluge of rain gave campers the chance to sing songs around a real fire.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some highlights from the year include the return of archery and a spectacular group performance by the staff of \u201cThe Circle of Life\u201d.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2018 was the year of animals, both real and artificial.
